The Originals and their reboots...

1) Gossip Girl

Reboot Rating: 5.3/10 stars on IMDB, 37% Rotten Tomatoes

Original Rating: 7.4/10 stars on IMDB, 84% Rotten Tomatoes

Meet the New Cast of the Gossip Girl Reboot

The Original Gossip Girl was filled with drama, and endless plot twists. It was following the lives of 5 friends, Serena Vanderwoodsen, Dan Humphrey, Blair Waldorf, Chuck Bass, and Nate Archibald. They all attended Constance Billard and St. Judes, two prestigious private schools. However, an anonymous blogger who goes by the name of Gossip Girl stirs up drama and scandal for the group.

The Rebooted Gossip Girl however, has a completely different storyline with a whole new set of friends that is more set in the present with present day drama. The only thing that stays the same is Gossip Girl herself, but this time, Gossip Girl's identity is known throughout the show. The teachers are revealed to be Gossip Girl. Tired of the snobby students, they decide to mess with their lives in an action to prove a point. overall, this reboot is not entirely horrible, the plot itself is not horrible, but i would not necessarily recommend it. most individuals dislike it due to the fact that not many of the original characters are shown, and many do not like that Gossip Girl's identity is known and the teachers.

The reboots characters are as well based off the original characters....Obie Bergman/Dan Humphrey, Aki Menzies/Nate Archibald, Audrey Hope/Blair Waldorf, Julien Coloway/Serena Vanderwoodsen, Zoya Lott/Jenny Humphrey, Luna & Monet/Blairs Minions, Max Wolfe/Chuck Bass.

My thoughts: The original was absolutley my favorite. It defiently is my favorite show till this day. The reboot is exciting to see the new characters live similar lives as the originals. The reboot is great as well. however, many peopel dislike it due to the fact that the teachers are discovered to be gossip girl, and gossip girl's whole identity is known throughout the series. original GG fans are not to pleased. they are also not to pleased with the fact that the original GG characters dont make an appearence. however, they are sometimes mentioned. I would prefer the Original. BUT... i do enjoy watching the reboot, i enjoy the storyline and characters. But i feel like it is a good show on its own scenes rather than just being a rebooted Gossip Girl. In other words in my personal opinion, it would be a great show based on Gossip Girl rather than being a reboot. For the original, i give it 10/10 stars, the reboot i give a 7.5/10 stars.

2) Charmed

Reboot Rating: 4.6/10 stars on IMDB, 71% Rotten Tomatoes

Original Rating: 7.1/10 stars on IMDB, 61% Rotten Tomatoes

The Charmed Reboot Is Worse Than The Original | Screen Rant

The Original Charmed was filled with suspense, magic and exciting scenes. the show starred 3 sisters, Prue, Phoebe and Piper Halliwell, along with Paige Matthews to fill in for Prue. The sisters find out their destiny as the Charmed Ones, who battle the forces of darkness together. They also have a whitelighter named leo: their mentor and guide. This was overall a great series especially if you love witch dramas.

The Rebooted Charmed follows two sisters Maggie and Mel Vera, who discover their mother was killed by a dark force. a few months later the sisters discover they have an older half sister, Macy Vaughn. However, now that the three of them are together, their powers have been activated. they become the Charmed ones. they have a whitelighter named Harry. This show is just as great as the original. the reboot has much diversity such as LGBTQ and Women of color representations. it follows a different storyline, but the same concept. overall, it's a great reboot.

The rebooted characters are based off the originals. Maggie Vera/Phoebe Halliwell, Macy Vaughn/Paige Matthews, Harry/Leo, Mel Vera/Piper Halliwell.

My thoughts: The original charmed could not be beat. i loved the storyline and everything in between. The original is great too. the characters have their own storylines, but was just based on original concepts. I would prefer the original over the reboot. The reboot is alright too.

3) Icarly

Reboot Rating: 6.6/10 stars on IMDB, 100% Rotten Tomatoes

Original Rating: 6.7/10 stars on IMDB, 100% Rotten Tomatoes

How iCarly's Revival Is Different From The Original Show

The original Icarly followed 3 best friends, Sam, Carly and Freddy who created their very own webshow which later on became a hit. The show follows the 3 best friends along with other characters: Spencer, Carly's brother and their friend Gibby. Freddy's mom Mrs. Benson as well makes appearances throughout the show. this show was part of our childhood on Nickelodeon and became extremely popular in the early 2010s. it was a fan hit.

The Rebooted Icarly: This is one of the types of Reboots held in the future for the original main characters. The reboot brings back Carly, Freddy and Spencer. Unfortunately, the actor of Sam does not make an appearance throughout the show. The show follows the lives of Freddy, Carly, Spencer, Freddy's step daughter, Millicent, and Harper who is carly's roommate and friend. It premiered on Paramount +, as of 2022 the show is set for a second season.

The reboot has characters from the original. Carly, Freddy and Spencer as themselves. Some of the originals guest stars make appearances in the reboot.

My thoughts: I personally, prefer the original over the reboot. It would be nice to see some of the original characters as well. But i really enjoyed knowing the future lives of the original main characters. The show as well brings back my childhood. However, the reboot is aimed more towards older teen audiences rather than the original, which was aimed at kids and young teens. Which would i prefer? The original

4) How I Met your Father/How I Met Your Mother

Reboot Rating: 36% Rotten Tomatoes, 5.4/10 Stars IMDB
Original Rating: 84% Rotten Tomatoes, 8.3/10 stars IMDB

The Original HIMYM: The original how I met your mother follows the story of Ted Mosby and his best friends in Manhattan where he recalls the story to his children about how he met their mother. The show was a big hit and became a very popular comedy sitcom.

The Reboot: The reboot much like the original, instead, “How I Met your Father” follows actress Hillary duff as Sophie who tells her son the stories of how she met his father.

Main character Sophie in HIMYF is based off of Ted in HIMYM.

What does the audience feel about the reboot? According to the Hollywood reporter, HIMYF is like an updated recipe rather than a Trader Joe’s version. Here are some other reviews about what everyone feels about  HIMYF
